If you want to be more like Jesus…

Christianity today doesn't always look like Jesus - the real thing can be quite different

Do you want to be more like Him? Really?

Well…

If you want to be more like Jesus, you need to think of yourself less and others more.

If you want to be more like Jesus, you need to be less worried about your reputation and more about spreading His reputation throughout the world.

If you want to be more like Jesus, you need to become impossible to offend because Jesus was the most offended of all men on the cross.

If you want to be more like Jesus, you need to worry less about your rights and ask, “What is God asking me to give up?”

If you want to be more like Jesus, you need to be less into the clothes you wear, the car you drive, the house you live in and the money you make. He owned nothing but had everything.

If you want to be more like Jesus, you need to be less worried about “protecting your children” and more concerned about saving the children of others.

If you want to be more like Jesus, you need to be less worried about “not going places good people shouldn’t go” and more concerned about going where people need Him.

If you want to be more like Jesus, you need to be friends with more prostitutes and thieves and you need to be so holy that hanging with them won’t overcome you with temptation.

If you want to be more like Jesus, you should talk less about how far someone else is from God and confess how much closer you should be.

If you want to be more like Jesus, you should worry less about who is elected to power and more about Who is ultimately in control, despite elections.

If you want to be more like Jesus, you will love endlessly, give recklessly, sacrifice continually…regardless of whether anyone sees it or gives you credit.

If you want to be more like Jesus, quite simply, you’ll be willing to die. Because for everyone who truly knows Jesus, death is not an end…just the beginning.
